This is a working room of a gardener. When you enter the room, there is a rake and shovel along the left wall. A rubbish bin on the floor is next to a workbench. Above the workbench, there are some tools hanging on the wall, including an electric drill, a pair of scissors, a saw, and a hammer. There is a light on the ceiling. On the back wall, there are two three-tier cabinets along it. Some batteries and paints are in these cabinets. In front of the cabinets, there is a lawn mower and a bag of fertilizer on the floor. Overall, tools are complete with nothing missing for a gardener in this room.

The limousine was quite luxurious. The color of it was polished black and it had six doors. The inside of the limousine was spacious and comfortable. There were a bathroom, a bedroom, a living room, and a bar in it. All the seats were made of leather and TVs were liquid crystal. Everything was managed by a remote control. It also had a pair of modern audios. Besides, there was a small refrigerator under the TV. It had a big skylight which I could open. I could do everything in the limousine and our ride was comfortable.

If they can use chemicals to make their merchandises better, they will abandon their consciense and inject or feed their cattle with ractopamine. According to Taipei Times, the main reason why they use chemicals is that consumers can't distinguish poisoned pork and natural pork.Third, administrators of agriculture always mis-detect meats with chemicals. We can always read some news about how some poisoned meat slip into restaurants and markets. If our government doesn't ban ractopamine, we always take risks when eating poisoned pork or beef. In summary, because of the three reasons discussed above, farmers shouldn't use the chemical ractopamine in pork.

In my opinions, farmers shouldn't use the chemical ractopamine on pork for three reasons. First of all, it's harmful for human body. According to the Taipei Times, it can cause some symptoms such as racing heartbeat, dizzines,...,etc. Moreover, more people will die after eating the pork with chemical. Next, I think that it's a trend of the world. For example, there are more than 160 countries which ban the chemical, so farmers can't use the chemical on fruits and vegetables anymore. In my views, the pig and cattle farmers should also do it. Lastly, it's no benefit for a long period. In fact, the human body can't clear these chemical and it will still be in the body. That will result in more potential damages such as diseases, and social problems. Moreover, the government shouldn't accept the pressure from other countries. Farmers shouldn’t use the chemical ractopamine on pork for three reasons.
First, using ractopamine is harmful to use. According to the Taipei Times, 100 peaple developed symptoms like raising heartbeat, dizziness and vomiting bodies after eating pork with ractopamine. In my opinion, ractopamine will accumulate in our bodies and even lead us to death.
Second, ractopamine is not banned in only 24 countries, but these countries can bring huge influences to the rest of the world. More than 160 countries will lose their competitions, including Taiwan. I think that most people will buy pork with ractopamine because it is cheap. It would be unfair for Taiwan’s pig farmers if U.S pork with ractopamine were allowed to be imported to Taiwan.
Third, because ractopamine really harm our bodies, we won’t buy any pork and won’t eat out in restaurants. It might influence Taiwan’s economy. I believe that if we ban the ractopamines from those greedy medical companies, we can protect our economy and our health.

There is a good restaurant in Taipei called 陶板屋. I love it for three reasons.
Firstly, the quality of food is good. Of course, the food is delicious. The arrangements of food are attractive. When you see the dish, you’ll feel hungry. Besides, the ingredients are fresh.
Secondly, the service is nice. Waiters and waitresses are kind and friendly. They are always smiling when they serve. They don’t make you feel uncomfortable.
Lastly, the price is reasonable. For example, the combo has an appetizer, a soup, bread, the mains, cake and tea or coffee. It costs 500 NT dollars and an addition service charge of 10%. It’s not too expensive.
This restaurant is worthy to go to with friends or family. When you want to go to a good restaurant, that is a good choice.

Farmers shouldn’t use the chemical ractopamine on pork for three seasons.
Firstly, it’s harmful for human’s body. According to the Taipei Times, using the chemical will give people some symptoms such as racing heartbeat, dizziness, and headache, there is even one patient who has died.
Secondly, Taiwanese people have different diet habits than people from other countries. We eat animal’s internal organs, which might contain traces of the chemical, so it’s dangerous for Taiwanese people. I n my opinion, we should pay more attention to what we eat.
Lastly, I think using the ractopamine is against the natural rules. Human beings always do something for their benefits, but they don’t think about the natural rules. If we use the chemical on cattle, they will be changed. Nobody knows what will happen in the future. Maybe not only cattle, but human’s genes will also be transformed. What a big calamity that will be! I think we can’t fight with nature and we should follow the natural rules.
In conclusion, because of the three reasons discussed above, farmers shouldn’t use the chemical ractopamine on pork.

I think that Taiwanese eat pig's intestines so the symptoms will be more severe than other countries.Second, use the chemical ractopamine on pork will affect Taiwan's economy. When the U.S. pork come into Taiwan, many Taiwanese will buy the cheaper U.S. pork, and this will discriminate against the local pig farmers.Taiwan's restaurant will use the U.S.pork, and many Taiwanese will not eat out anymore. There is a good restaurant in Taipei called “草山夜未眠”. You must visit the place for the reasons as follows.
At first, the location is great because it’s on the top of Yung-Ming mountain. There are seats outside the restaurant, so you can see the fantastic night view of the whole Taipei City, such a nice place is very hard to find.
Secondly, the atmosphere there is very good. There are candles on each table, and the trees are decorated with many twinkling lights. When the wind breezes, you will feel very comfortable, and you wouldn’t want to move anymore.
Next, there is variety of choices on the menus. You can either have coffee in small groups or have a big dinner with your family. And you can try many kinds of delicious cuisine, cocktail, and beer there.

My classroom is on the fourth floor. Outside my classroom is a long and broad hallway with a washstand. Get into the backdoor, at first, you will see my desk in the middle back of the classroom, and there is a huge bulletin board where I show students’ works and assignments on the back wall. Facing the platform, on the left hand side, under the windows, there is a space to store cleaning tools, like broom, mop, dustpan, bucket, and several trash cans for recycling items. Reading area is around the back corner. In the middle space, 36 units of desks and chairs are arranged for 6 groups, so students can discuss by groups in the classes. On the right hand side, next to the windows, there are 36 drawers arranged in ranks for the students. Everyone has his own drawer to put things that they don’t want to take home. It’s a small classroom, but it’s always full of happiness.

How to Get to My House from Taipei Station (by Irene)

It’s easy to get to my house if you follow these simple directions. First, take the MRT from Taipei Main Station to Dingxi Station. Go through the ticket barrier, and take the escalator to go up-stairs, then get out at exit 1. Second, turn left after getting out the MRT station, walk along the road to the first intersection, and then you will see a coffee shop right on the corner. Third, cross the street to the opposite side, then go through the crosswalk to the coffee shop. You can usually see several people waiting for a shuttle bus in front of the shop, even though there isn’t a bus stop. Next, get on the bus; the shuttle bus comes to pick up residents in my community home every half an hour. You have to pay 5 dollars to the driver. There are no other stops during the route, so the bus is driven straight to my community, and it just takes you about 10 minutes to arrive there. After that, get off the bus, you will see many magnificent buildings. Get into the splendid lobby, the security officers must ask you to put your name on a register, and then inform me of your coming. A question for compound sentence

Hi Katie, I'm George. I got confused about compound sentences. What are the differents between simple sentences and compound sentences?
I searched from internet and got a web which explains that compound sentence consists of two or more independent clauses (or simple sentences) joined by coordinating conjunctions like "and", "but", and "or." If the statement is true, is the example sentence,"Tom and Mary went to the store", given in the class a compound sentence? I think that "Tom and Mary went to the store" is a simple sentence, not a compound sentence. Because the conjunction, "and", is connect Tom and Mary. However, Tom or Mary is not a independent clauses or a simple sentence.
Could you please tell me why "Tom and Mary went to the store" is a compound sentence ? Thank you.

My name is Mickey Mouse. I live in a place called Disneyland. My father's name is Walt Disney. He was a famous cartoonist. A cartoonist is a person who draws cartoon characters like me. I was born about seventy years ago in a movie studio in Hollywood, California. I first appeared in a cartoon in 1928. The name of the cartoon was "Steamboat Willie." At first I appeared in cartoons with Minnie Mouse. Soon my friends Donald Duck and Goofy joined me. In addition to starring in cartoons, I also work at Disneyland. There I stand around and smile a lot. I also pose for pictures with visitors. I enjoy my job a lot because I make children all over the world happy.

My name is Nelson Mandela, and I have had an unusual life. I have been both a prisoner and a president in my country. I was born in 1918 in the small village of Qunu in the Transkei, which is a large territory (like a state) in South Africa. My father, Henry Mandela, was chief of our tribe, the Tembus. As a child, I took care of the family's cattle and goats and fished in the Bashee River near our village. I decided to become a lawyer because this seemed to be the best way to help my people. After I became a laywer, I became the leader of a group of young Africans who wanted to change the system of discrimination in our country. Because of my political activities, I was arrested and sent to prison. I spent twenty-seven years in prison. I spent most of those years on Roggen Island, a cold, windy island in the Atlantic Ocean. The world didn't forget about me while I was in prison, however. I received important visitors, awards, and university degrees from all over the world. I also learned Afrikaans, which the language of white South Africans. Of course I also speak English and Xhosa, which is the Tembu language. At last, I was set free in 1990, and I became the president of South Africa in 1994. Now I will try to bring peace, democracy, and prosperity to all of my country's people.
